Erd Diagram Tool For Mac

The software features Entity Relationship Diagrams(ERD), a database design tool that provides a graphical representation of database tables, their columns, and interrelationships. You can develop domains with the help of your defined templates for regular and faster use. I spent ages combing the web for a decent ERD tool for the Mac, and for some time resigned to using dbwrench, a java binary the provides decent but limited functionality and is free of charge. The choice of tools for ERD work is much narrower than what’s available on Linux or the PC, where something like DBDesigner 4 is fantastic and can handle pretty much any job you throw at it. The Most Popular Mac ER Diagram Software Experience an easy way to create entity relationship diagram on Mac, Windows and Linux. Apple users can make high-quality ER diagram with ease in the OS X platform. Share or cooperate on files effectively through Cloud. Download Mac Version.

Solid app, allowing you to draw ERD diagrams, which get reliably translated into the native script language - SQL or otherwise - of several databases, including: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Filemaker, Rails and Django. Able to also connect to several databases and create the ERD diagram on-the-fly, thereby making it somewhat easier to reverse-engineer the data design of existing systems. These features alone make it worth the money.
I will deduct 1 star, however, because the developer has been announcing version 3 for well over a year, making existing users fearful that development has been abandoned. Also, although it is a solid data design tool, it is seriously lacking in the graphics department: the user is given very little control over the graph's appearance - it is impossible to even change the font used in the graphs, let alone change stroke and background colours. More polish on the interface is still needed, as it still looks like a java app programmed by a newbie.
PROS: solid ERD diagramming tool, which reliably produces good database scripts - in SQL as well as in other languages - which is directly usable in a variety of systems.
CONS: very little graphics configuration options - your graphics will all look like java charts from the 1990's. Interface needs polish.
